This work starts from two improvisation sessions recorded in the first part of 2009 and then edited on the computer in spring 2010.Using the metaphor of “habitat” to give the title to this album comes from the desire to imagine the sound space as a dimension in which the musical processes are ideally considered at the same strength of the typical developing and connection processes in nature.For this reason every piece has to be seen as closed in itself, as a specific habitat, but at same time contributing, as a jigsaw part, to create an immersive listening dimension.In a wider sense the term “habitat” refers to a music vision which John Cage would define “ecological” in his ideal effort to consider all the aspects of the sound field as belonging to nature without genre distinction or, may be better, as “a whole game of his elements”.The emphasis given to the term “habitat” takes us to dedicate this work to the celebrations linked with the ONU’s choice of declaring 2010 as the “Year of the Biodiversity”. This as an ideal support to the reflection on human life considered in its essential relationship with the environment surrounding us, our habitat indeed.

Difondo
Difondo is an electroacoustic music group, based between Italy and France.
It takes ahead a timbrical research on musical and concrete materials which are then reworked through collective improvisation.
The performing modes, which include live sampling, live sounds digital processing and live spatialization, aim to create an experiental dimension to share with the audience.
Sound sources, usually taken from toy instruments, sound objects, spoken words recordings and field recordings are from time to time used to make up worlds linked
with a reflection on contemporary themes.

Vi troverete catapultati in una sorta di camera a deprivazione sensoriale dove tutto si azzera tranne la sonorità di un mondo surreale fatto di campionamenti sonori e sperimentazioni. Un ambiente ideale per assaporare l’improvvisazione dei Difondo, gruppo italo-francese attivissimo negli ultimi anni. Habitat emerge da due sessioni in improvvisazione registrate nel 2009 e colpisce per la sua capacità di accostare ed evolvere i suoni durante l’ascolto; crea atmosfere a volte inquietanti a volte concilianti. Sicuramente da provare. Cercate di andare oltre il primo impatto con questa particolare sonorità e sicuramente lo apprezzerete.

Itaallastel on plaadifirma Zymogen kõrvale kerkinud teine kvaliteetleibel nimega La bèl. Järjekorras kuues reliis ei künna enam eksperimentaalse indie ja post-rock`i laialivalguvatel piiridel, vaid on hõivanud midagi uut.
Sergio Camedda, Giampaolo Campus ning Giuseppe Casu on Lõuna-Itaalia kolmik, kes on keskendunud muusika- ja konkreethelide tämbrilisuse uurimisele. Kaheksa elektroakustilist improvisatsiooni – mille keskmes on mõiste “levila”/habitat/ – tekivad eraldatud helidest-kontseptsioonidest, mis iseendasse suletusest sõltumata siirduvad ning lisavad oma panuse üldisesse helipilti. Inimolend on paratamatult ümbritsetud keskkonnast, mistõttu käesolevat teost esitletaksegi kui ideaalset nägemust inimese olemuslikust seosest teda ümbritsevaga. Kõik mikrokontseptsioonid on esitatud võrdse intensiivsusega, milles on kord jazz-elemente, kord elektroonikat ja spoken word`i, kord klassikalise muusika ja konkreethelide mustreid. Kõiki träkke ühendavaks osaks on tumedaküllasus ning helikeele pingestatus-kriipivus, mis jätab sellest mulje kui mõnest tuleviku ooperi helindist.

Aquí va llegando lo nuevo de La bèl netlabel de Italia. Se trata de álbum mas experimental que ambiental, pero con un gran orden en las sequencias de sonido, en donde de pronto escucharemos percusiones y silencios, también entraremos por momentos en la oscuridad y saldremos a la claridad. Una referencia muy prolija y ordenada en donde Difondo le pone su sello al estilo y además al netlabel. Genial.
